Powering Flinders
You've landed here probably because you saw one of the signs in front of people's houses in Flinders. That was the house of one of the many Flinders residents who are proudly helping us to move towards our goal of net-zero carbon by 2030 by installing solar panels.
So what's this all about?
We are actively working hard to encourage as many Flinders people as possible to put as much solar on their roofs as they can afford. This helps to reduce the strain on our electricity grid in times of high demand, for some houses it helps to charge our community battery, and importantly it will save you money!
How do I get solar panels?
There are zillions of solar providers out there, how do you find a reliable one? We recommend that you visit our parent organisation Repower Mornington Peninsula. There you will find a link to 'Get a free quote now'. This is a service they run that will give you several obligation-free quotes from reliable businesses that have been vetted by Repower. And it will link you to a real cool modelling page where you can play around exploring the impact of various energy saving choices.
Who or what is FZCC?
The Flinders Zero Carbon Community Inc is a group of residents from the Flinders area, passionate in a growing concern about the increasing impacts of human induced global warming on our natural environment and the resulting effects on our communities, both locally and globally. We want to make a difference in Flinders. You can find much more info about us on this web site as well as find out about the Community Battery that we have installed.

Our aim is to get Flinders to
net zero carbon by 2030.
What else has FZCC done?
We began in 2021 and have held numerous sausage sizzles, surveyed our community about their needs, held public forums in Flinders, produced various reports (see our Resources page), obtained funding for and installed a Community Battery, and run a bulk buy scheme for various energy saving devices.

We'd love you to join us and stay in contact by becoming an FZCC member. You might even like to get more involved and join our committee - we meet monthly in Flinders and plan how we can work effectively towards our goals. If so, please contact us here or drop Mark Arons (our secretary) a line at flinderszcc@gmail.com. We'd love to meet you!
