Exploring energy use in your flinders home

This page lets you upload your home's energy use data for 1 year and see your annual energy consumption and total solar exports. It uses your ‘Victorian Energy Compare report’ which you can download from National Metering Identifier (NMI) data that gives you access to  all your imported and exported energy for the past year at 5 or 30 minute intervals.

You can explore your data in just 2 easy steps:

First

Everyone on the Mornington Peninsula has their power provided by United Energy, no matter which retailer (PowerShop, AGL, Red Energy, Diamond Energy, etc.) you might have selected.

So first, download your NMI data from from United Energy:

  • Login to United Energy and from your dashboard click  View Details  then  Download reports , and download your '4. Victorian Energy Compare report' (ending in UNITEDENERGY_VEC.csv).

(If you don’t have a United Energy account, click on the Register an account)

Next

Upload your data to our FZCC Energy Cost Analyser app:

  • Click  Choose CSV File  in the FZCC Energy Cost Analyser below and then you will be able to explore your data. We suggest that you aim to:

    • Look at how much energy you Consume and Export each year.

    • Look at our small selection of power companies to see your likely costs (these rates are only indicative - not updated, but you can edit them!)

    • See how these costs vary by season (or date, or even time of day) - you can often save money by switching companies every 6 months (it's easy!).

(Find out more about Virtual Energy Networks on EnergyLocals 'PowerTracer' scheme

and you can download our VEN info sheet here.)

Play & enjoy :)
