This SwitchedOn podcast is well worth listening to!
Entitled "So you want to install a community battery? Village Power’s battle to get switched on" it tells the story of a group in the Alphington, Fairfield and Ivanhoe areas who have spent the past 6 or 7 years working towards a community battery - like ours! But they were not so fortunate and have just recently come up against some serious issues.
They chose a different model for the running of the battery from ours: a subscription model rather than one in which nobody "joins up" and any financial benefits being returned to the community as a whole. Their website is excellent and informative.
