We are inviting you to join the Flinders Virtual Energy Network!
And before we go any further, we will have an information table outside the Flinders General Store this Saturday (Dec 20th) from about 8:30 to 11ish. Drop by and say 'hi'!
Why a VEN? Well:
you might get a kick out of being able to share or sell any excess solar energy you have with other Flinders residents or businesses;
you might get a better price than whatever measly feed-in tariff you currently get from your electricity retailer;
or maybe you don't have solar at all yet and are just looking for a better price for your energy (and energy sourced from a local resident to boot!).
To get an indication of what this might mean to you financially, you can download a file from United Energy describing all your energy use for the past year. We have an online tool to help you do that and to use that file to check the likely benefits of being in the VEN compared to your last year's bill. It won't be for everyone as we all have different pricing rates from our retailers and very different usage patterns. But for many, we hope the idea is attractive.
The above online tool link will guide you through the process to help you see where you stand.
What to do next? Head to this informative page on our web site and find out more about this venture and how to get involved.
